These are views along the White Pass and Yukon Route, a Canadian and U.S. Class II 3-ft narrow gauge railroad linking the port of Skagway, Alaska, with Whitehorse, capital of the Yukon territory in Canada. We traveled part of this hair-raising trip along jagged cliff edges and impossibly high trestle bridges through the White Pass to its towering 2,800-foot summit.
This is the map of the route for one of the most thrilling rides I’ve ever taken, although you have to be OK with heights!
Note that the line goes all the way to Whitehorse, although we only went to the summit of White Pass.
The next few photos are from the rail company, because the rest of my archive photos are too blurry.
For more information on the train, see the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad site, here.

Wow on that train and trestle! WOW.

Magnificent photos! I’ve not yet visited Canada (such an oversight on my behalf!) but this type of scenery and landscape is exactly what I’d be going to see.

You’d probably have a wonderful trip here. Especially in Western Canada. Hope you get the chance.

I’m sure I would. Western Canada is what I’ve been looking at too. Possibly a trip for 2018 …
