Definitely a fit for the opening of baseball season, this extremely rare American toy was found in a flea market in England, stored for more than a century in its original box.
This circa 1880s toy, probably by Selchow & Righter American, is a set of figural ten pins depicting men playing baseball. Made of wood and paper, the set includes three original balls that would have been rolled to knock down the figures.
There are only a handful of other known sets of this type, according to New Jersey based RSL Auction Company, which features the toy in an upcoming sale.
